The Scam

July 15th 2012 was a day when the cyanogen minions were happy after Samsung Mobile Kenya a local branch of the giant electronic company – Samsung announced they would award a person who would tweet the most tweets within a week by tagging @SamsungMobileKE (their twitter account) .

Yesterday the results were finally out and what had seemed at first as a clean game turned out to be a scam of unprofessional behavior by the local company which represents the image of Samsung here in Kenya.

You are missing something, @Cyanogenmania the account belonging to me had the highest tweets at 7040 by the time they announced the winner, i was tweeting day and night, 1000 tweets daily since the kick off. Twitter allows a max of 1000 tweets a day, if you are smart, all you need i to time yourself, immediately after tweeting 127 tweets, twitter puts you in “Twitter Jail” but in order to use the given time to the max, you need to be alert at the time you are freed from “Twitter Jail”…tweeet another 127 tweets and the cycle goes on.

But guess what? They awarded a random person with the grand prize…a new Samsung Galaxy SIII which now goes for Ksh60,000 ($705) an amount i would not spend on a phone even if i had the money..i mean…that’s extremely expensive.

This is not a lamentation but a way of speaking out and maybe warning any other players, for the only fair corporation in Kenya is Capital FM. They have very fair games.
